April: What to Watch in the cinema and on Netflix

April is always a slow month for entertainment after all the excitement of the awards season.  However there are some good movies in the cinema this month such as a Dogs Purpose and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Some of my favourite TV shows are back this month on Netflix including Better Call Saul and The Get Down.

Please Note: some good TV shows are leaving Netflix this month including Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Get watching them now if you want to see them before they leave Netflix for good.

Boss Baby – 7th April

I got to see a preview screening of this movie last week. It is a great move for kids. Check out the full review here.

A Dogs Purpose – 14th April 2017

This is the type of movie where I have a breakdown afterwards. Even the trailer made me weep TWICE!! This is about a dog who goes through a series of lives and the people he meets along the way. If you plan on going to this movie bring tissues.

Fast and Furious 8 – 14th April 2017

Fast and Furious is back with another movie and even faster cars. Will this franchise ever end? Starring the usual suspects with some additions to the franchise. Starring Charlize Theron, Dwayne Johnson, Scott Eastwood, Vin Diesel

Guardians Of the Galaxy Volume 2- 28th of April 2017

The sequel to the Guardians of the Galaxy is finally here. This is the movie I am most excited about this month. This movie continues from where they left off in the last movie battling evil do-ers and trying to track down Peter Quills parentage.

The Get Down – 7th April 2017

The second part of the first season will be released this month. This story is based in the Bronx in New York in the 70’s where music is in abundance. Even though they spent a lot of money on this series, it really paid off and the first 5 episodes were excellent.

Better Call Saul – 11th April 2017

Better call Saul is back with season 3 and will be streamed on a weekly basis. This season will continue from where it left off about the life of Jimmy McGill before he was Breaking Bad.

Girl Boss – 21st of April 2017

This is a comedy drama series starring Britt Robertson who plays an entrepreneur trying to make her way in the world of business.

Sand Castle – 21st of April 2017

This is a movie starring Nicholas Hoult and Henry Cavill, where it follows a group of US soldiers in the 2003 Iraq War. Netflix did the Seige of Jadotville really well last year so I imagine this will be quite good also.

Casting JonBenét – 28th April

A documentary/ fiction filming which tells the story of a murdered six-year-old American beauty queen named JonBenét Ramsey. I’m really excited for this one and the trailer makes the whole documentary/ fiction filming interesting.
