I was delighted to be invited to the preview screening of Kingsman The Golden Circle last night.

There was a party prior to the screening where there was an abundance of food and beverages before watching Kingsman The Golden Circle. British and American music played in the background to fit in with the theme of the movie. This fun atmosphere continued into the movie where the star-studded cast including Channing Tatum, Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Jeff Bridges and Hallie Berry to name a few gave a fun-filled action-packed performance.

I had not watched the first movie so I was very much unaware of what had happened for the characters to get to this point.  I was still able to follow the movie and the storyline was surprisingly more fun than what I was expecting.

The Plot

The movie begins with an action scene from the start, which involved a car chase/fight sequence. The audience is immediately thrown into the storyline. The Kingsmen have to go the USA in search of support from their American equivalent organisation called Statesman.

As they join forces with the Statesmen they work together against a major drug cartel run by Poppy (Julianne Moore) in order to stop a world disaster. This is a very easy movie to watch, everyone seems to be having fun in it and it seems like the actors had fun making the movie too. Often the movie borders on Slapstick and would remind you of old-school Bond movies.  It is not a very deep, thought-provoking film but not all movies have to be this way. It’s enjoyable to watch and I will be going back to watch the first Kingsman movie this weekend.

Special Mention

I must give a shout out to Elton John who plays himself in the film. He is hilarious and does more than just a cameo which is often times the case with musicians in films. I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes an appearance in the third Kingsman movie which I’m sure there will be.

Check out the trailer below. In cinemas 20th September

    Hey there!

Long time no talk, this is Matt from BookMattic. I enjoyed this post and I highly recommend for you to see the first movie. Although I haven’t seen this one, most likely the first is better cause that’s how it usually is except for T2 which was an amazing sequel.

Thanks for the heads up about this movie!

Good review. Kingsman 2 had more action than the first one but a lot of unnecessary jokes and situations proved to be a buzzkill. It still managed to make $100.2 million worldwide so the movie is still kind of good. They’ll definitely make a third one.
