6 TV Shows to watch for Dry January

Partied a little too much in December? All you want to do is curl up on the couch and watch TV? Well you have come to the right place.

Here is a list of TV Shows to watch for dry January that you may have missed last year.

Peaky Blinders – Netflix

I recently starting watching this TV show on Netflix and I binge-watched the whole thing over the Christmas. Set in Birmingham during the era when gangs and mobsters controlled the city after the First World War. The TV show follows one gang in particular called the Peaky Binders (known for their peaky caps which had razor blades to attack people). There is an excellent cast including Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, and Joe Cole.

Derry Girls – Channel 4

This TV show is shown on a Thursday nights at 10pm on Channel four and it is the best comedy I have seen since Father Ted. Set in Derry in the 90’s, it follows a group of teenage girls who undergo the normal trials and tribulations of growing up while ongoing conflict remains in Northern Ireland.

The End of the F***ing World – Channel 4/Netflix

This dark comedy is about a teenage boy who decides to run off with his girlfriend with the intentions of murdering her. It has gotten rave reviews and will definitely be back for season 2. The episodes are short –only 20 minutes each meaning you will fly through season 1.

Santa Clarita Diet – Netflix

A suburban family’s lives change when the mom becomes a zombie. It is a hilarious comedy and was a major hit on Netflix last year. Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant

The Sinner – Netflix

This TV show is not for the faint-hearted. When a woman stabs a man to death on a crowded beach for no reason, a detective investigates the murder where more than one secret unfolds. There are one or two plot holes that ruin the story however it is still a good TV Show and worth the watch.

Dark – Netflix

One night a little boy goes missing and is nowhere to be found. As the neighborhood begins searching for him the mystery of the missing boy becomes more complicated than expected. This TV show was originally German but don’t let this put you off an excellent story.
